Reclining Seats

leather recliners?

I am getting 2 expensive new mission style leather recliners. What is the best way to keep them supple, and clean? Also should I be concerned about my mini dachshund's claws?

  1. Furniture store should have a kit for leather cleaning. It has a cleaner and a leather conditioner . If not supplied, you can purchase a good leather conditioner at any retail store. I have 2 recliners that was purchased 10 years ago and still look brand new. I condition them once a month. If you don't trim your dachshunds claws, the claws may puncture the leather.
  2. I use a leather cleaner and protector by Guardsman. It keeps surface dirt from accumulating and leaves the leather moisturized and supple. I keep a throw over the arm of my wingback leather recliner to protect it from the pesky eskie claws because they will scratch the leather.
  3. The store you are buying your recliners from should furnish your first supply of leather care cleaning kit. After that you can buy more at a furniture store or probably even Wal-mart, ect. As for your dog, yes, leather is tough, but your dog could still put holes in it, if they are that sharp.
