Reclining Seats

Where can you buy a replacement pull cord for a reclining couch seat?

I have a couch that has a pullcord down in between the cushions of the couch to pop out the foot rest. recently the cord broke and now i've been looking everywhere and can't seem to find a replacement one. does anyone know where to buy one ... or what exactly the correct name for it is?

  1. Contact the manufacturer of your sofa..............or where you bought it.
  2. Thats a " jerry rig " situation if I ever heard one. Put on a mini skirt and ask a good handyman to help. If they dont find you handsome they should at least find you handy !!
  3. I replace these for people. The first place I try is the retailer. If they can't or won't help, I go to the manufacturer. Sometimes they are warranted, sometimes not. The ones I have on order now are $10 each. The slang name for these are "parachute pulls" and the formal name varies, but is usually something like "latch cables" or "latch release". Once you find them, order a couple -- they are problematic. If all else fails, Leggett & Platt is the major OEM supplier, but you will need to know a little more about your mechanism, as they vary over time and they are not universal fit.
