How do I avoid recliner chairs at home ruining the walls? I've been having problems with my recliner in the den,it's been scratching the wall and now I need to paint. I'll like to avoid this in the future,any suggestion will be appreciated.

Riser recliner not working? My dad has just been released from hospital, and he had an electric riser recliner chair delivered to help him rise up onto his feet. However, it doesn't seem to be working. There is definately power going into it, as the green light on the transformer is on, but the handset is totally dead, and there is no movement at all. I have checked for loose wires etc but everything appears to be connected. Do these chairs need charged if they have been unplugged for sometime? It may be the handset that is broken, but does anyone else have any suggestions on what could be the problem? Thanks in advance.

Recliner Chair Repair? We purchased 2 Lane Furniture leather recliner/rocking chairs. They are a little more than a year old and out of warranty, but one of them seems to have a problem that I was wondering how much it would be to fix. In the normal seating position, not reclined and foot rest in, as soon as you sit in the chair it immediately begins to recline without ever touching the lever on the side. Even if you push the lever back down, if the weight of a person is on the chair, it tries to recline. I compared the workings of the mechanical parts to the chair that works fine. I found that the bar that runs from the left side to the right side, and the spring attaches to, is rotating a lot farther back than the other one. The bracket that the spring rotates on seems to be binding up with another bracket as well. The chair still works fine, as long as you always recline. If anyone knows how to fix this, any websites that would help, or good repair shops in Los Angeles that would be great. Thanks

is it possible to clean (flattened) microfiber (recliner)? i would like to purchase 2 used microfiber lazboy recliners. the microfiber has kinda matted down where the persons had their (greasy) head. also where their legs rested. it is not so bad. this is why i am hopeful that with professional ulpolstery cleaning, that the chairs can be saved. the sellers want 300bucks for each chair, this is why i am writing. i do not want to take a chance if the chairs won't come back to very-good looking condition. i would like to know if there are any professional cleaners whom might have a comment. thank you.

how do i keep my ferret from burrowing inside my recliner? he loves to go under the recliner and climb inside, then he claws out all the padding. i sewed and stapled a lining on the bottom of the chair, so now he claws at the seams on the side of the chair till he makes a hole big enough to get in. i was told that they respond to punishment by alienating themselves from you. so i dont want to do that. if i immediately grab him and toss him away from the chair, he associates the chair with attention, so he loves it more. but if i ignore him, he climbs right back into the chair. and starts clawing away.

How do you stop kittens from urinating on recliner? We had a recliner in our living room. When our cat had kittens, her kittens starting urinating on the recliner. I have used an enzyme based cleaner and really saturated the chair I have also shampooed the chair. Finally we just got rid of the chair. We have a new chair and they are doing the same thing. How do you remove urine smell/stain from a recliner? I feel stupid asking this but I had a party this weekend and one of the people attending woke up in the middle of the night and urinated on my recliner in his sleep. The next morning I went to the store and purchased upholstry cleaner and saturated the entire recliner with it. There is no smell now but I'm afraid that the chair is disgusting and I'm grossed out to sit on it. I would just say the hell with it and throw it out but it is my friend's (also my landlord) and getting rid of it is definetly not an option. How can i clean my microsuede recliner? I have a microsuede recliner and it gets dirty alot, like today my son had a bananna that he smeared all over the arm of it. ick. I cleaned it with a sponge and some soap and warm water but it still feels all stiff in that spot and not all soft like the rest of the chair. How else could i clean it? How can I fix a squeaky recliner? I have a La-Z-Boy recliner that is several years old and it seems as if the wood frame under the upholstery squeaks right at ear level on both sides of the back of the chair. Otherwise the chair is perfect, but I need help getting rid of the annoying squeaking. Any ideas?
